Q. Do you cater for special dietary needs, for example, sufferers of diabetes and celiac disease etc?

A. We can cater for a variety of dietary needs both medical or personal/ religious. Please let the registered manager know your requirements as early as possible in the referral process.

Q. What are the financial requirements to place a patient?

A. We ask that anyone coming into the home has enough funds for two years. If a client is experiencing financial difficulties they or their next of kin or Advocate should raise these with the manager of the home.

Q. Will I have to move from here if my condition changes?

A. We continually review clients to ensure that all of their needs are met. In the unlikely event that we cannot meet changing needs, we will assist the client to move to an appropriate place. Our first concern is the best interests of the client.

Q. Are there additional charges?

A. Yes; Sundries requested by the patient, for example personal newspapers and personal telephone calls are chargeable. Private chiropody and physiotherapy are charged at competitive rates.

Q. Can I bring in furniture?

A. Yes; a small amount of furniture, which does not impede care delivery can be brought in as can personal effects and ornaments. All furniture must be fire-retardant and wooden items may require a woodwork certificate. Electrical appliances need to be tested by our maintenance staff before use.

Q. What are the visiting hours?

A. We are open to visitors from 9am to 8pm and at anytime by prior arrangement. We ask that all visitors sign in and out in the book provided, for health and safety and fire requirements.

Q. When is the manager on duty and is someone available to speak to regarding any concerns?

A. The Manager is on duty Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and also holds a Manager’s Surgery on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm. The Nurse in Charge of each shift can be approached at any time with concerns or queries. The Manager will be informed of all these.
