Upon admission, the service user undergoes an in-depth assessment of symptoms, functional impairments and abilities. With input from the service user, their Consultant Psychiatrist, Staff Grade Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, and family, a comprehensive treatment and recovery plan is developed around needs and goals.

The plan includes medication, counselling, individual or group therapy, social interests and then progresses to rehabilitative therapies and development of skills in preparation for reintegration into the community.
