Using the recovery model of care, the strengths of the service user are emphasised to overcome, compensate for, or minimise the impact of psychological deficits. Our treatment approach balances the medical model, including medication and therapies, with educational model of treatment that helps the client develop new skills and socialisation capabilities in line with the social inclusion agenda encapsulated in an individualised Treatment Plan.

We understand that for some service users, Shrewsbury Court Independent Hospital offers a life long placement. In such situations, we aim to ensure that the service users enjoy the highest possible quality of life according to their personal abilities.
